Nordic is London's first Scandinavian Bar and Restaurant. Situated at 25 Newman Street, London, W1T 1PN it is approximately 100m from Oxford Street, in the heart of the rapidly growing area of 'Noho' (North of Soho').
Nordic brings together for the first time the food, drink and traditions of Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland and Iceland in relaxed and informal surroundings.
The interior design by Tim Bushe Associates reflects the landscapes and natural textures for which Scandinavia is famous. The unusual and original lighting created by the Unnatural Lighting Company brings to mind the Northern Lights of the Aurora Borealis.
At lunch time the menu is a blend of traditional Scandinavian favourites served in a contemporary manner, including Gravadlax with danish dill sauce, Swedish meatballs with lingonberry jam, Pytt i Panna and of course Smorgasbord. In the evening, the bar menu incorporates more snack food such as Danish and Swedish hot dogs and meatball sandwiches as well as an extensive main course selection.
Nordic bar serves a wide range of drinks from across Scandinavia including a great selection of ciders and some great beers like the powerful Stockholm beer from Sweden and Elephant beer from Denmark.
Not forgetting Lapin Kulta from Finland (according to legend brewed exclusively by women)...who would argue!
The cocktail list is designed by Andy Curtis with Nordic favourites such as the damn tasty 'Longberry', the smooth 'Winter Paradise' and the saucy 'Porn Star'. Nordic also boasts an original and tongue in cheek shot list... maybe you feel like a 'Reindeer Nuts!' or a 'Morten Harket is my Dad..aha...' note, the last one you have to ask for in a Scandinavian accent less we won't serve you!
